THE PEOPLE
THE B SIDE SOULCIALITES VARY IN AGE, GENDER & RACE BUT WE ARE PRIMARILY BLACK WOMEN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 25 & 65, THE MAJORITY ARE IN THEIR MID-30s TO EARLY 40s.. THEY ARE COLLEGE-EDUCATED HOME OWNERS WITH 0 TO 2 CHILDREN. THEY LOVE TO TRAVEL & ENJOY THE FINER THINGS ON THE B SIDE.
THE POETRY
THE B SIDE IS THE LONGEST-RUNNING PLATFORM FOR THE ART OF SPOKEN WORD IN SOUTH FLORIDA. OUR FEATURED POETS HAVE BEEN GRAMMY NOMINATED, TONY AWARD WINNERS, POETRY SLAM CHAMPIONS & MORE. THEY HAVE BECOME ACTORS , SCREEN WRITERS, FILM MAKERS & WORLD RENOWNED KEY NOTE SPEAKERS. THEY HAVE TAKEN THE ART OF SPOKEN WORD TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND WE ARE PROUD TO B A PART OF THEIR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS.

WE CREATE THESE PLATFORMS FOR OUR LOCAL ARTIST TO DEVELOP THEIR ARTISTRY HERE IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA MARKET SO WE DO NOT LOSE THEM TO THE OTHER "MUSIC" CITIES.
WE HAVE DONE THIS WORK CONSISTENTLY SINCE 2001, MAKING US THE LONGEST RUNNING PROMOTERS/SUPPORTERS OF INDIE SOUL MUSIC IN SOUTH FLORIDA.

Founded in 2001 by cultural curator Ingrid B, ON THE B SIDE has grown from intimate gatherings of poets and musicians into a respected cultural platform that has showcased hundreds of artists while cultivating a loyal and highly engaged audience of professionals, creatives, and culture lovers.
Through signature experiences such as Mellow Dramatic Mondays, Cunning Linguistics, Soul Survivors, Stilettos & Prose, and The Poetry Spot, ON THE B SIDE creates immersive cultural events where soulful music, powerful poetry, and meaningful connection come together.
