If you have ever been on a B Side stage, sat in a B Side audience, grabbed a mic, shared a poem, sang a song, played an instrument, spun a record, brought a friend, discovered an artist, made a connection, or walked away with a memory…
This night is for you.
On The B Side is turning 25, and we are getting the family back together. 🎤✨
For a quarter century, On The B Side has been a gathering place for people, poetry, music, culture, creativity, and community.
Poets have blessed our microphones. Singers and musicians have filled our rooms with music. DJs have provided the soundtrack. Artists have met audiences. Audiences have become family. Friendships have started here. Relationships have started here. Careers have grown here. Memories have been made here.
Somewhere along the way, what started as an event became a community.
And now…
IT IS TIME FOR THE REUNION.

Part live music experience. Part poetry experience. Part reunion. Part celebration. Part living archive.

While Miami welcomes people from around the world for a week celebrating art and culture, we are celebrating 25 years of the artists, voices, stories, poetry, music, and people who have helped make the B Side part of South Florida’s cultural story.

WE ARE CELEBRATING HISTORY AND ARCHIVING IT.
There could not be a more appropriate place for this moment than The Black Archives.
B SIDE 25 will also be an archival event, documenting the people, stories, images, and memories that have shaped On The B Side over the past 25 years.
Throughout the evening, we will be photographing patrons, capturing video, interviewing members of the B Side family, collecting stories, and sharing photographs and memories from throughout our history.

THE PEOPLE
THE B SIDE SOULCIALITES VARY IN AGE, GENDER & RACE BUT WE ARE PRIMARILY BLACK WOMEN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 25 & 65, THE MAJORITY ARE IN THEIR MID-30s TO EARLY 40s.. THEY ARE COLLEGE-EDUCATED HOME OWNERS WITH 0 TO 2 CHILDREN. THEY LOVE TO TRAVEL & ENJOY THE FINER THINGS ON THE B SIDE.
THE POETRY
THE B SIDE IS THE LONGEST-RUNNING PLATFORM FOR THE ART OF SPOKEN WORD IN SOUTH FLORIDA. OUR FEATURED POETS HAVE BEEN GRAMMY NOMINATED, TONY AWARD WINNERS, POETRY SLAM CHAMPIONS & MORE. THEY HAVE BECOME ACTORS , SCREEN WRITERS, FILM MAKERS & WORLD RENOWNED KEY NOTE SPEAKERS. THEY HAVE TAKEN THE ART OF SPOKEN WORD TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND WE ARE PROUD TO B A PART OF THEIR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS.
THE MUSIC
OUR FEATURED PERFORMERS HAVE INCLUDED GRAMMY-WINNING, GRAMMY-NOMINATED & GRAMMY WORTHY PERFORMERS FROM AROUND THE CORNER & AROUND THE WORLD.
WE CREATE THESE PLATFORMS FOR OUR LOCAL ARTIST TO DEVELOP THEIR ARTISTRY HERE IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA MARKET SO WE DO NOT LOSE THEM TO THE OTHER "MUSIC" CITIES.
WE HAVE DONE THIS WORK CONSISTENTLY SINCE 2001, MAKING US THE LONGEST RUNNING PROMOTERS/SUPPORTERS OF INDIE SOUL MUSIC IN SOUTH FLORIDA.
THE SOUL
AT THE HEART OF THE B SIDE IS IT'S CURATOR AND IT'S PEOPLE. INGRID B HAS TURNED A FAVOR FOR A FRIEND INTO A LIFELONG PASSION FOR CREATING PLATFORMS FOR ARTISTS TO GROW ON. 25 YEARS OF CONSISTENT EVENTS & PROMOTIONS HAS MADE HER THE QUEEN OF SOUL SCENE IN SOUTH FLORIDA & BEYOND.
